Can musicians play music AND play football?

Born in the britpop age, Soccer Six is rebooting from the ground up and this is the start of it's next chapter.

For 2022, CUP (Creativity Uniting People) Soccer Six maintains it's rock and britpop cred with some solid circuit faves and up-comers.
Investigate bands like
The Raven Age, The Chase, Creeping Jean, Sarpa Salpa, The New Twentys, Mark Sharp & The Bicycle Thieves, Muddy Elephant and The Ronains who are in the mix with a load of well known names and faces from telly and radio. Sounds like a selfie-marathon to be fair!

With more names to announce and a reputation for testing the musical skills of recommended music talents, the world's original celebrity football tournament scores a hit every event.

Between them, the above bands are playing a variety show of 2022's main and international festivals (including Download, SXSW, Truck etc.) and have an array of critical praise for their releases and performance... For instance, the reaction to every live outing that Nottingham outfit, The Chase grace - around their debut EP 'Not The F*cking Game Show'- is dripping with superlatives.

The musicians have allies on side

Fave multi tasking (radio/TV/festivals) music world faves including:

Katie Owen
- who recently repped Soccer Six on Talk Sport Radio, presented Leeds Festival, DJs at the top Football events in Wales as well as at the UK's main music festivals)

Louise Schofield (who, fresh from scotts menswear billboards, presents the new 45 Second Soccer Six TV news drop, as well as various broadcast shows, hosts on film festival red carpets and has her own show, Spill The Sound).

They'll be on and off the pitch with the bands, alongside celeb presenters/DJs such as Sports media's, Amy Christophers "
the 'Hottest export since the pasty" (FHM) and TV model Bianca Gascoine...

There is always a media presence at Soccer Six.

It's 2022. There's extra social media, this year. An ace brace of Tik Tok (Tom Pratt, Jomang23, Ginger-R9) and YouTube stars like Arthur TV. Millions of views and followers between them. TV, Film and Radio (Love Island, Game Of Thrones, Britain's Got Talent etc) are represented by a SWATHE of well known names and faces. They join all the above plus pop music chart toppers like Nathan #Wellerman Evans and Spandau Ballet's Steve Norman, comedians like Francine Lewis and Neg Dupree

Evolved and Environmental

To hundreds of music and entertainment world faces - add the people's new heroes, climate scientists!

#LoveTheWorld is not just a slogan for Soccer Six. It's a way forward.

UCL's Environment Professor, Mark Maslin, is part of 2022's Football x Entertainment x Community (r)Evolution making the beautiful game even more so.

The environment is very much at heart with various green issue players on the pitch! It's one of many initiatives developing behind the scenes. An inclusive day out with joy at heart but more in mind.

Soccer Six is an instigator which has had women's teams for over twenty years. This will continue. The beautiful game, which originated from the working class, is diverse and loaded with all backgrounds - united. This year, Soccer Six Fest steps things steps up again with the social media and environment woven into the bands, celebrity and audience.

That is some party, right there, already.

Ah, but who's winning a Soccer Six trophy, on the day, though?

"We're taking the cup back to Brighton"
, Creeping Jean tweeted recently!

Soccer Six falls around the release of their debut album 'When's The Blowout?' which is already getting favourable attention: "They’re fun like The Struts and have cleverly honed quirks that are clearly the result of honest, artistic chemistry." (Kerrang)

Follow all these bands...

...There's a traditional Soccer Six focus on recommending key artists - hence this Music Tourist Board interest in the return of this event adding to it's tradition of well known celebrities mixing with punky indie scenes.

Musicians are set to inflame the live circuit, increasingly as we adapt safety first to the pandemic. Definitely the kind of positivity that's needed these days.

Music Tourism is the best.

The New Twentys are just back from some dates where they made so much of an impression that they even received a cake made in their honour, at Manchester!

2017's Soccer Six rising-star names included
Tom Grennan, Emily Capell, The Assist, Bang Bang Romeo and Modupe -  among many more who, between them, have had a pop star flavoured story already as we count down to 21st May.

So watch this year's Soccer Sixers (some of whom repped at The Brits 2022) joining this alumni of global repute and battling it out for the cup on the pitch.

Signed to Marshall Amplification's live booking agency, Northampton indie heroes, Sarpa Salpa are on a gigs and festivals tour all summer. Already a Steve Lamacq (BBC 6Music), Jack Saunders (BBC Radio 1) and Amazing Radio fave, their new single, 'Dreaming', is released on 6th May.

Smile Endz - Fun AND Games!

What's happening at Soccer Six's pandemic delayed 25th anniversary is the start of something brand new. You don't have to be a football afficionado to enjoy cheering musicians running around a pitch at Entertainment's most informal gathering.

Pictured in 2017: Modupe became the face of a Gibson Guitar campaign with TFL The Mayor of London (featured on the side of buses) and was long listed for Glastonbury 2022.

There's the networking side of things with media and industry always in attendance, plus bars/refreshments, live shows and a day outdoors in the fresh Brit weathered air!

Now imagine all the above at the start of a friendly fun way to cheer up the future for all ages - and be part of that day.

Soccer Six raises attention and support for
The Mile End Community Project

One of the event's partners,
Echotown Studio has just launched an absolute destination of a location!

There's a large amount of nearby public transport with Saturday 21st May ending in good time for people to get back easily from the site. Here's to an unforgettable day. Again.

Boom!
