2021 #MusicTourism Gigs and Dates

#MusicTourism - on land, on line, on point.
Music and arts lifestyles in the grassroots venues plus birthdays. Our stars have stages, not ages. Why would we still think in established mainstream media's mouldy moulds? https://instagram.com/musictouristboard | MTB Recommends : FB Events

#2021gigs are Pandemic permitting but Music Tourism can also be virtual. Join artists' FB events for updates and any safety first amendments. But keep the faith in the Arts and Music. Please don't ask for freebies from the artists. They've gone without, for too long. #SaveOurSelves

Twitter tag #MusicTourism #MusicTBtips *(fave Britain Ireland tips
@musictourboard with (welcoming) festivals/gigs (especially under the radar stars line ups). Brexit may be trying to cull the scenes and chances of our united best reputations, but SEXit and rock ON.
Here's to all genres coming on board.

*Alternative/reasonably priced spaces for artists, audiences, crew, visitors, locals. We are community. Bigots can "do one" - that distracting, so called "Festival of Brexshit" included. This year archived at the bottom of the page, monthly. #MusicTourism inspirations include the Strawberry Fields Hotel of Blackpool (is it still there? - it was exceptional). Calendar updates:

Thank you, friends, for the 2020 tips. They are still on the Music Tourist Board reps To-Visit bucket list in 2021.

"A disparate group with a near psychotic level of civic pride have set up the Music Tourist Board, promoting the self styled borough of Rocklands with the ultimate fanatical aim of getting the area declared an independent rock n roll republic." (NME) MTB origins, 18 years of DIY.

2021 Archive and start of 2022 calendar.

January - New Year (r)Evolutions

08 Star Man Day

08 Elvis Presley (musician birthday)

08 RtN Makes Music (musician birthday)

15 Martin Luther King (#MLKDay is celebrated on the third Monday of January). “Call it democracy, or call it democratic socialism, but there must be a better distribution of wealth within this country for all of God's children.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr

17 Life line refresher: The #PeaceAndJustice campaign launched (34k+ views in under a week on YouTube alone) a refreshing change to hear and feel hope, love and truth in a world of despair, hate and lies.

18 #MLKDay 2021

19 James Creighton (musician birthday)

20 Poems and dreams. Amanda Gorman and Bernie Sanders inspired. The future is not perfect but this third week of January, it felt not so orange, and brighter.

21 was The 21st Day Of The 21st Year of the 21st CenturyOnce Upon Another Time.

Music Tourist Board January 2021 #MusicTourism city

Coventry. In honour of youth powered people's champion, Zarah Sultana, 2Tone and all the positive heritage which this Midlands city has pulsed into the world from special people and moments.

The Institutes are a new music case in point, as the beat keeps coming. Travellers Tunes is (suitably) one of the first independent media on board with Music Tourist Board and recently pointed out; "The Institutes are a band for right here, right now, and god willing, huge stages in 2021."

Coventry Music Museum (born Halloween 2013) was one of the first locations to pick up the Music Tourism economy baton and is located in 2-Tone Village. Of course.

By 2021 Coventry is quite rightly, City Of Culture.

Literally, The Beat keeps coming!

Jan'2021 tweet from @TheEnglishBeat:

"Here's me & #RoddyRadiationByers of @thespecials , at the #2Tone walk in Coventry. One of the amazing lessons of #TwoTone was tolerance! So if we can do it, you can too! Here's to Love & Unity, tolerance & tenderness as we help each other thru the pandemic. Stay safe out there! -x"

As Pa Salieu's stunning 2020 album title says 'Send Them To Coventry'. The BBC Sound of 2021 artist also made his USA TV appearance this month on the Fallon show, no less. Hear here! https://lnk.to/SendThemToCoventry

MTB reps will be calling back into Coventry a.s.a.p. to seal the deal, just gotta find a grassroots music venue to make an alternative rock/pop event (our promoting roots) for June onwards, probably physically distanced. Ongoing Cov updates coming, but in the mean time, a memory of The Kasbah Club;

25 St Dwynwen's Day. Welsh patron saint of love and lovers. Dydd Santes Dwynwen hapus/Happy St Dwynwen's Day. Her church on Ynys Llanddwyn (a small tidal island off the west coast of Anglesey) is a pilgrimage site steeped in folklore and a shrine for the "lovesick".

25 Scotland: Burns Night - word!

25 John Cooper Clarke - punk poet/wordsmith

25 Marshall Amps launched a Live Agency

25 - 31 #IVW21 - Independent Venue Week

The growing calendar will help with be the foundation of Music Tourist Board 2022

March - Spring is sprung

07 Happy Birthday Amanda Gorman

08 2021 was the definitive International Women's Day with the week that followed, against women (under cover predators, the works), and then declared "Happy Mother's Day". Sisters Uncut plus Zarah Sultana, Nadia Whittome and more, are the opposition and squad. Rock Music is helping to save us.

19 Released that day. Played by new music guru presenter, John Kennedy on his essential X-Posure show, Radio X, that same evening.

'She's Not Coming Home Tonight' by deux furieuses

"How many more generations of women have to protest to reclaim the streets? This song is dedicated to all missing women and girls. All proceeds to Reclaim These Streets who are fundraising for women's charitable causes across the country."

https://deuxfurieuses.bandcamp.com/track/shes-not-coming-home-tonight

  #ReclaimTheseStreets | #wewillnotbesilenced | #endviolenceagainstwomen

2021 - It's International Women's Year, every year, from now on

The Kuntzenflagshaggaz Age - tories from the johnson crime syndicate to sir keith and cronies have gone all national front/bnp this month, not long ago labour even said "britain first" (in memory of young mum and labour MP Jo Cox starting brexit by being murdered by a white supremacy flag). Why is it supremacy when it's proud of inbreeding? See "royals" etc. Fuck it. Music Tourism is the way forward. Kindness and inclusivity. But in the mean time, stay aware, awake, woke or whatever you wanna call it as we are sleep walking to goose stepping. If you want the benefits of a different kind of news, follow Benefits. YouTube Channel"Or, wave yer fucking flag..."

20 - Happy Birthday Sister Rosetta Tharpe, the godmother of Rock'n'Roll.

How can this Manchester #MusicTourism from 1964 not be one of your favourite realities? This Happened - and, like the 2012 opening ceremony, it's not impossible that we - Britain - can be a beacon on the world again. Some of us are facing the evil demons of what our flags and statues actually stand for. Others are rewriting history to endslave us. If not in denial, we can be ashamed, so that we can actively move on to be better.

For the REAL #Gr8Brtn Music Tourist Board would make a key road to recovery economy, education, employment, environment and especially euphoric entertainment entity.

Sister Rosetta Tharpe - 'Didn't It Rain?' (live)

"How I love you so, my English friends. Forever and ever until I leave this world" - Sister Rosetta Tharpe (March 20, 1915 – October 9, 1973) Icon, musician, singer, songwriter, guitarist, and recording artist. Ah, heck let's add "This Little Light Of Mine" (1960) - because it's still shining, Rosetta!

20 Lee Scratch Perry is 85 in 2021! Roots and Reggae music living icon.

21 Census Day. Spring Day. When #SocialistSunday joins forces with the arts and sporting sports for a positive, anti bigot, pro-future kindness and conscience fuelled people power, our lights may shine again. In the mean time, look to the DIY "urban" music youth talents and the rocking interdependent grassroots musicians and their allies who would normally be in venues the size of The Cavern, for a loving heritage that is blooming against the odds.

21 Make Music Day

21 MisGovernment have cottoned on to the power of solstice and equinox so Spring Equinox is census day and Summer Solstice is gigs are back day. With no opposition outside Labour Party's Squad, the Mayor of Manchester, Northern Independance Party, thousands of artists - including Jedward, and the conscience and courtesy of humanity, propaganda will ensure they misrule again in 2024 unless the divided regroup. We NEED to celebrate together again for that to happen. It's NOT #Gr8Brtn when we don't make a song and dance about everything.
